Content (Syllabus outline):
ICT in society:
- approaches between technology and society;
- communication and social specifics of digital technologies;
- technology in political sphere;
- technology in media sphere;
- technology in private sphere;
- technology in civil society sphere;
- media and society;
- improbability of communication;
- publics, audiences, markets, stakeholders and users;
- traditional media, PESO and beyond (mobile, wearable…);
- communication power: who does what to whom in what channel and with what effect;
- how many moths and ears we have? Science and arts of listening.
Objectives and competences:
To study social antecedents and consequences of ICT, as well as strategic communication uses of multimedia. By completing the couse they gain a broader picture of their future work and some baic tools for practical multimedija implementation.
Intended learning outcomes:
Knowledge in and understanding of fundamental theories on mutual influence between ICT and society, as well as basics of strategic communication.
Learning and teaching methods:
- Lectures and fieldwork.
- Each student collaborates in a project work.
- Group analysis and interpretation of multimedia use in contemporary organizations.
